Ancient Grave
05:41
|
|||
I've traveled for so long Singing streetlight songs
Until I came upon A forest ten miles long
As the shadows cleared I felt a presence near
And when the spirit came I stepped into the flame
You and I should always try for things that last forever
Hold My fortune and pride
We both looked away and we all laughed together
Forgot my fortune was mine
From the ancient grave A sonic impulse came
Above the flame it grew A sound I thought I knew
And through the pouring rain The brilliance blinded me again
A girl cloaked in moss And she was looking boss
You and I should always try for things that last forever
Hold my fortune and pride
We both looked away and we all laughed together
Forgot my fortune was mine
You and me were meant to be mixing in the blues and greens
And glorious bountiful dreams.

Building It Up

I used to know The things I thought I knew I wanted to let you go You know you had doubts too ohh How did I end up here Away with the wind I blow The victories so near Weren't good enough to show Ohh Building it up inside Building it up inside Why wont you tell me Building it up Building it up inside wont you tell me Building it up inside I know someone Someone I used to love She was the one The one I held above Ohh What's good enough for me is good enough for you I want it to be the same The same as we used to do Ohh Ohh Building it up inside Building it up inside Why wont you tell me Building it up Building it up inside wont you tell me Building it up Taking it all in stride wont you tell me figure it out Riddled with doubt now Why wont you tell me building it up Building it up inside These shadows bend so seamlessly Building it up inside Confused we both collide.

Thanks To Me
02:36

Thanks you had that kiss
The one you'll remember for all time
A cold and windy walk through city streets
Memories That's only yours and mine
Thanks to me you got some scars
Some tears fallin in the dark
A question with an answer that
Makes you wish you had the question back
Thanks to me I'm drunk again
Some empty bottles on the floor
A song That reminds me of you
Thanks to me I'll have one more
Thanks to me I'm home again

Radio On
07:28
|
|||
Watching the rain catch streetlight reflections speeding downward maybe
Passing me up for better company on the ground
Writing the soundtrack to first kiss perfection with lips that I don't know
Saying her prayers before she goes to sleep tonight
Everything I ever try to say
Can't seem to find the grace to phrase
If fragile kinds of callous minds can make it through the night
We'll be back where we began
A corduroy dress and my mind is racing speeding downward maybe
We stay up all night for pointless conversations in the dark
You talk about your rock star obsessions with bands that I don't know
And you lament your past loves and rejections but I'm not listening
Everything I ever try to say
Can't seem to find the grace to phrase if fragile kinds of callous minds can make it through the night
We'll be back where we began
Honey we don't have to talk
Turn the radio on
Honey we don't have to talk
Turn the radio on

The Looking Glass
04:46
|
|||
Three years since the looking glass and I walk around and think of her all day. Pull myself out of this place till i can finally bear to show my face. Sink and swim I think of him laughing at my face from far away. Invitations complications pave my path and bury me with clay. How am i supposed to walk with legs of dust and marble coated pants How am I supposed to walk you dance you dance you dance you dance you dance
Through the looking glass I thought I saw reflections of your face. Through the looking glass casting out projections of your grace. One by one some slipping tongue slices you and lacerates content. Injecting and infecting us to the point that endless concern never ends. Illuminate your consciousness your weary weak soul wont hold what you sell. Desecrating infiltrating sacredness around you turns to hell. Shadows of our presence pulls and pushes us to recreate each day. Inviting and enticing us to burn a shining brightness where we lay.

A Patchwork Girl
06:30
|
|||
Prettiest girl this place has ever seen. With a rag-time dance and a patch work dress. And all the boys watch her from the bar. And raise their glass, and break their hearts. And I hold my breath as she walks over to me. With the prettiest eyes, the prettiest eyes. And oh my God what it must have been like. To see them when they still shined.
And she asked me if I'll take her home tonight. But man it aint right. It aint right. For me to be thinkin about some other guy. But I wonder what, it was like.
To Fuck her up.
To Keep her up at night.
To Fuck her up.
To Haunt her sheets with my memories.
As She tries to sleep, she'll think of me.
That aint right.
Dreams roll through this town like thunderstorms. With a flash of light, then they're gone. Well I'm just hangin around here long enough, To mean anything, To anyone.
To Fuck Her up.
To Keep Her up at night.
To Fuck Her up.
To Haunt Her sheets, with my memories.
And She tries to sleep, but she thinks of me.
And I've wasted a mole of possibilities, and I'm gettin old.
Cut me in half and you can count the rings. And I'm just scared that maybe. She's the last one that I could ever love. The last one who could fuck me up.
So Fuck Me Up.
Keep Me Up at night.
Fuck Me Up.
Haunt My Sheets with your memories.
And don't let me sleep Cause you're in my dreams.
